Kathy and I absolutely loved our time with you, your first mate, and Skipper. We thought about stealing him and bringing home with us, but we knew he would be missed. We would love to do it again if the opportunity ever arises in the future.THANK YOU.

Hey Big Jim, you are the man! This is so great seeing you sail the seas after all of the talks we had about it and going boat shopping with you. Makes me wonder what I am doing sitting at this desk right now. Happy cruising Jim and Diane! Where is the next trip going to be?
Peter 1/5/2010
For Mark and Lee. Happy 2010 and thanks for the absorbing news update. You will be delighted to know that you have missed out on the coldest winter in 20 years. Ice and snow for the last 3 weeks and no end in sight!!! Love & kisses Peter

Happy New Year Jim and Diane! Hope you enjoyed your Christmas. Cabo was beautiful- thanks for your recommendations; we loved the marina, but wished you were there for cocktails!
Laurie Pisani 12/28/2009
Your photos are breath taking!! Amy sent me the link and it''s fun seeing where you are on the map. It''s a treat to see such amazing places from a distance; thank you for sharing. :) Journey well!

Jim, I always thought you were smarter than the average Vice President (or even President) when we worked together. This proves it. It was great to see Diane in beautiful San Diego last week, but I suspect your scenery was even better. Take care. John Harrison

Awesome photos of the trip through the canal. What an experience that must have been.
Mike Ruggiero 6/8/2009
What a great trip through the Canal!! Terry, Claire and Tom are new friends. Now we can share the joy of traveling from the Pacific to the Atlantic, through a rain forest, and the memorable cab rides to and from the locks! The Canal tour was one-in-a-lifetime as was the village tour with the Indians. Thanks Jima nd Di! And thanks Dan for the great B-day gift! Mike (dad)
Admiral Diane 6/7/2009
Dear Captain - I''ve just read the log for the past two weeks. You did a great job of summarizing our ''trip of a lifetime''. However, you did forget to mention that the Admiral spent a day changing oil in the engine room! Every trip on the Ocean Dance is fun, entertaining, exciting ... and always includes a surprise! Thanks for keeping the log updated - its fun to relive the adventure!
Alyce Klaus 6/5/2009
WOW! What a wonderful life! So glad to follow your adventures. Wishing you good health and great weather with much love! Alyce

To the Admiral & the Captain- I hope you all are enjoying the awe and wonder that is the Panama Canal! Keep the sunscreen and sunglasses on and have a wonderful time!

Hey Jim, Nice! Looks like heaven on earth! Rich Family
Jim & Jan 3/1/2009
Looks like you''ve arrived in our favorite port (Z''wha). Be careful -- it''s very easy for the anchor to get "stuck" here! We''re really happy that the cruising lifestyle is living up to your expectations! Hugs to you and the Admiral from the crew of m/v Manana.

Jim, I always thought when I grew up I wanted to be like Rob Curtis, no longer. Now I want to be Jim Guy! Sweet website! WOW.
Richard and Carol 1/31/2009
Hey there Rich and Janet, we have been following you on line and getting more and more jealous. Weather here in KC terrible. I would stay on the boat if I were you. I think you two should be named as well as the Captain and the Admiral, How about Janet being First Mate and Rich Cabin Boy! Take care Richard and Carol.
jeanette lee 1/29/2009

Jim - It''s really fun to read your log. It makes me feel like I''m experiencing the trip (a bit) even though I can''t be there. You have a great writing style. So glad you have such great company (crew!) on the adventure. I miss you terribly and can''t wait to get to the Ocean Dance in about 10 more days. Love you! The Admiral

Randy and Carmel Tanner (Ocean''s 11) 12/26/2008
Jim and Diane - what a fabulous trip you''ve had so far. I am so jealous. My trip to Alaska was great, but lousy weather, lousy fishing (except for the last week) and lousy fuel prices!!!! I would give anything to be in some warm weather (you know what Christmas in Seattle has been like)! I wonder what it feels like to wear shorts, or even swimming trunks! If there is any chance after April 15th, I''ll talk to Carmel, as it is a trip of a lifetime. Enjoy and be safe (nothing like having to check the weather daily- right)!
Rich & Janet Coleman 12/17/2008

Carla & Jack Boyd, Olathe, KS 12/7/2008
We''ve loved reading your ship''s log from the fishing stories, anchorage challenges and boat maintainence in exotic places! You''ve had the right people at the right time on this leg...some of the rest of us would be worthless!!
11/26/2008
Hello Jim & Diane, Wanted to be sure to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving although you most likely will be having fish!!! It has been a week since you left and we pray that all is going well for you. Love you, Kathy & Jay
Lynne Wherley (GG) 11/26/2008

Bob Knutson 11/21/2008
It sounds like the trip has started out in great shape. What fun! If anyone gets sick, let me know and I''ll be right down!
Mike Markcity 11/19/2008
What a great trip on an equally great boat. If my age and health did not preclude me from applying for a berth I would be at the head of the line for a crew position. Best wishes for a successful voyage and I will be keeping track of your progress. Bon Voyage
Pat & John Rains 11/10/2008
Looks like a nice boat, great itinerary, good people. Buen Viaje!
